Alan Wake - The Signal

If you bought and played Alan Wake when it was released earlier this year, then you may be pleased to hear that the first episode of downloadable content has just been made available on Xbox Live! It gets better though, because if you bought the game brand new you are able to download it absolutely free! (or for 560 Microsoft Points if you went for a pre-owned offering of the game instead).

According to descriptions, this first episode entitled ‘The Signal’ continues the story of Alan Wake’s twisted imagination right where the main game left off, and allows us to delve even deeper into the utterly insane world being created in his own mind.

Go download it, right now!

I recently played through Cult of the Lamb, a satirical take on the concept of running a demonic cult. It turns horrific things like sacrificial rituals, cannibalism and straight up gaslighting abuse into hilarious amusements by filtering everything through its cartoonish lens. You are a sheep, after all, and all your followers are sycophantic anthropomorphic […]

Hello, world! This post marks the moment in time and space when BangClickReload got a little redesign and was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Every post before this point is rather old and might not look right, and unless I decide to go through them all to fix them, they’re going to […]

This is the time when I’d usually write about three random games that I’m playing, and give you a brief run-down on each one, telling you what I think so far. But due to there being very little to play this summer, (all I’m doing is paying another visit to 2009’s Arkham Asylum and its proving to be a perfect warmup to the sequel which is out soon) I thought I’d tell you about some games that are nearly ready, but not quite… We’ve talked about Battlefield 3, Deus Ex 3 and Skyrim already, but here’s three other games that deserve some more attention.

    Indie games are in.

Right now, if you are an independent game developer, you’ve never had quite so many opportunities for showing off your skills, though you’ll likely be up against some rock solid competition – some of the best games of the last few years haven’t come from the giant mega-corporations, but rather from much smaller companies (and in some cases individual ‘bedroom coders’). Xbox Live Arcade, Steam, Flash gaming portals – there’s so much exposure out there right now, and it has resulted in a surge of innovative new gaming titles. Indie games are definitely in.

    Call of Duty: Black Ops

Call of Duty: Black Ops came out last November, which means its pretty late for it to be reviewed with any real purpose other than just to talk about it, but that’s what we’re all about here on BcR anyway, so why the hell not, eh?
