Game Commercial of the Week
I was not a fan of Uncharted 3, but this new ad for Nathan Drake’s supposed final adventure is only 30 seconds long and somehow managed to tug my heartstrings… I wish I had a PS4. Read More ››
Crysis 3 Gameplay
Just look at that. Ridiculous, yes. But also cool. Crysis 3 is due out later this year, and we have a first glimpse at the gameplay in this new trailer. It looks as though Crytek have decided to combine the best bits about Crysis 1 and 2 to make this threequel – we’re promised open world gameplay set within a bio-dome hub of New York city, now overrun with jungles and aliens. Click below to check it out.
Dishonored – Cinematic Trailer
If you take the art director of Half Life 2, mixed him with one of the game designers from Deus Ex, and slapped them into the team who made Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, you apparently end up with the wonderful looking steampunkish game Dishonored. Its looking very good, and is quietly creeping up my anticipation-o-meter the more I see it.
Alan Wake is Finally Available on PC
7 years I’ve waited for this! Alan Wake was first announced way back in 2005, back when Remedy had only just finished Max Payne 2, but after 5 years in development and the horribly justified cancellation of the PC version, it came out as an Xbox 360 exclusive back in 2010. Now, 2 years later, we can finally experience it at its best.
Mass Effect 3 ‘Take Back Earth’ CGI Trailer
I am currently on a mad rush to play through Mass Effect 1 and 2 again in time for the launch of 3 next month. Thanks to a foolish reformat of the wrong hard drive last year, I have no savefile to import into the game. And I MUST continue the story with MY Shepard. I couldn’t bear it any other way. Meanwhile, there’s a new frankly excellent cinematic trailer out for the absurdly anticipated 3rd installment. Click below to see it.
The Best Superbowl ‘Big Game’ Trailers
Every year, Americans host a ‘big game’. Something about football, only played with hands, not feet? I don’t know, sport is something that my brain doesn’t understand any more. Still, the best bit seems to be when the two sides have a rest and watch 40 minutes of movie trailers. That actually sounds pretty good to me.

VGAs – A Bunch of Game Trailers
The Video Game Awards were this weekend and some games won some prizes. More importantly were the new game trailers that were released, and I’ve embedded 3 of my favourites below for your viewing pleasure. Check out the new Alan Wake game, awesome footage of Mass Effect 3, and the first footage of Naughty Dog’s new game The Last of Us.
We’re nearly Back to Karkand…
… and we’re going to be able to fly harrier jump jets again! This excites me. This excites me a lot. See, I like flying helicopters, and I like flying jets, and in my mind a harrier is the best of both, and that means it should be helluva fun. If at least only because of the nostalgia I’m going to have when shooting the shit out of that big crane while a little guy tries running along it to avoid the hail of bullets from my minigun. Suffice to say, I can’t wait!

Skyrim is Almost Here…
And it has a new trailer. It’s very nice, and rather subdued, especially compared to most game trailers we are treated to, choosing to simply show off some of the locations and NPC’s we’re all likely to explore and meet once Friday hits. Yep, just 3 days to go. Man, I intend to get so utterly lost in this…
Battlefield 3 Launch Trailer
Only one week to go before we can have a battle on a field for the 3rd time. Click below to see the awesome singleplayer launch trailer.
The Avengers are Coming…
Marvel’s behemoth of a movie The Avengers, directed by none other than geek hero Joss Whedon, has a trailer out. Get your first glimpse of Tony Stark, Thor, Hulk and Scarlett Johansson in this quite spectacular piece of eye candy.
Renegade Ops Finally has a Release Date
The PC version of Renegade Ops has been floating around without a release date for a while now, but Avalanche have finally announced that it’ll be made available on 14th October on Steam. As a bonus, we get to drive the buggy from Half Life 2 Episode 2, complete with ‘antlion special attack’. Sounds amusing. You can pre-order this game for a tenner, or go for the 4-pack (the game is 4-player co-op, ideal for a bunch of mates) which works out as £5 each. Trailer below shows off what we PC gamers can look forward to. This game looks like a lot of explosive fun…
