Quantic Dream’s Kara

Enigmatic game designer David Cage has revealed what his studio is working on next, and it looks rather good. The developer of Heavy Rain and Fahrenheit did something similar a few years ago, releasing The Casting, which was a short tech-demo piece showing off the kind of experience you could expect from their first outing on the PS3. We can only assume the same applies here – Kara is not a game trailer, but a showcase of what advancements they have made and gives a feel of the new game they are working on. It involves robots!

We don’t know much more than that really. The game itself hasn’t been announced, but its comforting to know that there is a new game in the making. Quantic Dream are one of the more interesting developers out there simply because they are genuinely inventing the ‘interactive drama’ genre almost single handedly.

Eurogamer have a good article about it over here, or you can watch the video itself below.

Review – Cult of the Lamb

I recently played through Cult of the Lamb, a satirical take on the concept of running a demonic cult. It turns horrific things like sacrificial rituals, cannibalism and straight up gaslighting abuse into hilarious amusements by filtering everything through its cartoonish lens. You are a sheep, after all, and all your followers are sycophantic anthropomorphic […]

Hello, world! This post marks the moment in time and space when BangClickReload got a little redesign and was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Every post before this point is rather old and might not look right, and unless I decide to go through them all to fix them, they’re going to […]

A Short Guide to Gaming for Free

With the recent release of Alien Swarm, I’ve had a bit of a craving for more free gaming. You’d be surprised how much fun you can have out there without spending a penny. You simply don’t get this in other industries, and not at this calibre – let’s face it, most free stuff out there in the real world is free for a reason: it’s unwanted, out-of-date, or just crap. As for free entertainment, imagine if your local cinema had free showings of some films? I can’t, frankly. Plus, if it’s anything like my local, going to the cinema is becoming an increasingly more expensive way to spend an evening. Why not save your cash and try some of these brilliant (and surprisingly sophisticated) free games.

Fallout: New Vegas – I has it!

    October 22, 2010

So a rather large package arrived at work today, smelling faintly of nuclear radiation. My Fallout New Vegas special edition had arrived! I’ve been waiting a while for this, as a big fan of Fallout 3, I’m quite stoked and ready to explore more of the wasteland. I hurried home, got back in record time thanks to the traffic gods’ leniency, slapped the disc into my disc drive, and…

Currently playing… Limbo, Wolfenstein, Demon’s Souls

I have a terrible habit of playing too many games at once. The result is I have a huge backlog of games which I’ve bought and simply haven’t had time to look at yet. I got Bad Comany 2 the day it came out, and it’s still sitting here on my desk in its cellophane wrapping. I bought Final Fantasy XIII ages ago too and thats still sealed. And I even did install and play the first few hours of Bioshock 2, but then my PC decided to die on me, and I lost my savefiles…must get back to that soon. However, right now I have 3 games I’m focusing on, and aside from the fact they’re all dark and depressing, they couldn’t be any more different – one is a creepy 2D indie platformer, one is an old school FPS, and one is the most unforgiving RPG I’ve ever played.
