Heartbreaking Zombie Trailer of the Week

Dead Island

There’s a new zombie game on it’s way this year, and it’s called ‘Dead Island’. All we know about it so far is it looks like Dead Rising, but actually serious. How serious? Well, just take a look at this trailer. We’ve never been made to feel as terrible about the events taking place in a game than this very original, mind-blowing, gut-wrenching trailer did.

The Brotherhood is coming…FINALLY!

Assassins Creed Brotherhood is finally available to pre-order for PC, with the confirmed release date of March 18th. So, if like me (to be honest I think I’m the only one) you’ve been patiently waiting for the PC release, it’s time to rejoice! As an added bonus, there’s a rumour that the game will not include Ubisoft’s dreaded new DRM system which requires you to have a constant online connection to their servers… Perhaps they’ve finally seen the light.

Crysis 2 story trailer

It’s been 4 years since Crysis, the PC exclusive beast which became the graphical benchmark for all modern shooters. For a while we were waiting in anticipation of what Crytek’s next game would look like, expecting another leap forward in graphical deliciousness. Crysis 2 is now only a month away from release, and though it doesn’t appear to be as great a leap forward in the visual department as we expected, (lets thank the console toys for that) it still looks fantastic. See the new 3 minute story trailer below.

Minecraft – How to build a New World

Minecraft reached Beta towards the end of 2010, and we decided it was time to start building our own new world. We rent a server from Multiplay and have been playing Survival Multiplayer mode for several months, exploring the land, mining for treasures, discovering natural caverns and of course building a whole load of fortresses, towers and dungeons. Unlike Classic mode, which gives you an unlimited amount of blocks in a limited space (see The Realm of Bal’dock), SMP mode drops you in an empty, infinite map, and leaves you to your own devices. You start out with absolutely nothing and must gather up resources before you can use them, so your creations feel considerably more valuable because they take more effort to produce. Below is a visual guide to the world we’ve made. Welcome to Diggasaurus Park…

Movie Review – Zeitgeist: Moving Forward

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward is the third documentary by activist Peter Joseph, who has independently released three of the most thought-provoking films I’ve ever seen. Their overall message has far-reaching implications: our world’s economy, which is based on money and power are increasingly becoming redundant in the modern world, and as a species it is in our own interest to think of an alternative way of life – one that encourages progress, rather than restricts it. The films offer a potential solution to the apparent dire state of global culture, and it is very hard not to feel inspired by the ideas they suggest…

Sleep is Death: The random story machine

Sleep is Death

Remember that game you used to play when you were a child, when you and a friend would make up a story, one word or sentence at a time. Usually it made little or no sense, but 90% of the time it was still hilarious somehow! Well, this is that game, but instead of just words, it’s pictures, actions, characters, and directing. It’s a story.. which is also a game.. which is also a basic form of Photoshop. Sound confusing? That’s because it’s so absurdly, ingeniously unique! It’s great fun once you pick up the controls and options available to you.

Reviewed – Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 was released just over a week ago, and after finally beating it on ‘survivalist’ mode (the third of five possibly difficult levels, the fourth being ‘zealot’ and the last promising to be so unimaginably hard, it wasn’t even unlocked yet) I finally have a well rounded opinion of the game.

Battlefield 3 Teaser Trailer!

Battlefield 3

Finally! An awesome little teaser trailer for Battlefield 3 has been released, and most importantly, you can quite clearly see a jet. A JET! After Bad Company simplified the series a little, taking away the ability to go prone, and worse, the JETS, we are very happy to see they are going back to the old way of doing things with BF3 by bringing all that good shit back. Very, very happy. Let’s just hope they take the Destruction 2.0 from Bad Company and plonk it right in here.

And apparently.. it’s due out Autumn this year. Yay!

Deus Ex 3 info overload

RockPaperShotgun have a whole load of new information about Deus Ex 3. I’m more excited about this game than any other this year, and if you ever played the original Deus Ex, I’m sure you’re equally as keen to get your hands on it. It sure does look as though they’re doing everything they can to produce a faithful prequel to the original, and put the misstep that was Invisible War in the past. Trailer below.

Abe’s HD Oddysee

Abe's Oddysee HD

It’s been an unbelievable 14 years since everyone’s favourite Mudokon, Abe of Oddworld, graced our consoles with his first adventure, Abe’s Oddysee, and since then we had three more Oddworld games, too; Abe’s Exodus, Munch’s Oddysee, and Stranger’s Wrath – all great games. Now, after all this time, we are all going to be treated to the best thing that could ever happen in Oddworld… A HD remake of the original Abe’s Oddysee, with full 3D graphics in the same old side-scrolling, 2D perspective, with brand spanking new physics!
