Tomb Raider – Reboot Trailer

In case you weren’t aware, Tomb Raider is getting a reboot next year. Lara Croft’s origins are being explored in a new game about survival on a desolate island, and there’s a new CGI trailer to get you in the mood. Continuing the run of recent Square Enix pre-rendered trailers, it looks fantastic and I for one am looking forward to checking out one of gaming’s most famous heroine’s backstory.

Review – Darksiders

Heaven and Hell are waging a massive war in another dimension, and among the chaos, something triggers the rapture here on Earth. Literally all hell breaks loose, one of the four horses of the apocalypse is summoned forward by mistake, humanity is wiped out and the world is completely destroyed. War, the horsemen in question, barely has time to wonder where the other three are, when he is brutally destroyed by a giant demon. And this all happens within the first ten minutes. Welcome to Darksiders.

They’re coming outta the goddamn walls!

Aliens Colonial Marines

It’s back! It’s finally coming! And there’s even a cool teaser too! After waiting years and years, suffering through fears of total cancellation, Aliens: Colonial Marines is finally arriving in the foreseeable future. There’s even a web site set up for it, not to mention an estimated release date of Spring 2012. We are happy, very happy.

Real Life vs In-Game

I just went on a rather awesome road trip across America. It was a great way to get away from my unhealthy job (working on a computer) and my admittedly unhealthy hobby (playing on a computer) and I was both excited and ashamed to realise every place I visited reminded me of some videogame or other… As we traveled from Miami to New York and back again I saw so many locations which influenced some of my favourite games and it was great to compare them to my memories of their virtual counterparts.

CoD: Modern Warfare 3 – Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Modern Warfare 3

Well, there’s been scandal about spoilers and all kinds of rubbish to do with the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and frankly I’ve done my best to avoid absolutely everything to do with it, because I’d prefer it to be kept spoiler-free thank-you-very-much. One thing I’ve been most pleased to finally see online, however, is the first gameplay trailer. There’s a handful of famous locations around the world, including New York City, the Eiffel Tower, and an exploding tube train in London! Oooooh… controversial!

Portal 2 Co-op Discussion

Portal 2 came out a few weeks ago, after the gloriously frustrating, exciting, confusing and ridiculous ARG involving potatoes, Paul and I did what any self-respecting gamer would do. Yes, we set our pc’s up in a dark room, loaded up with snacks and LAN’d it up. We played through the entirety of the co-op mode and have gathered our thoughts. Here’s a clue: we liked it.

Review – Fable 3

Fable 3

It’s been a long time now since it came out on 360, but since I only just finished it last week, and the PC version is due to be released in only a week or so, I can finally get round to reviewing it and it won’t be too late or random.

No Brink ’cause I’m Broke…

It’s that time of year again! The car insurance is due out, there’s endless bills, and sadly, I have to eat, so I have little or no cash to spend on the things that truly matter, like video games! This happened last year though, and hopefully it’ll pass pretty sharpish… What a bad time for it to happen though! In only 4 days we have Brink’s release (May 13th), Brink being a game that I really bloody want, and not to mention L.A. Noire is out only a week later (May 20th). Woe is me! I won’t be surprised, however, if I’m extremely irresponsible and get a hold of them one way or another anyway…

Fancy Pants Adventures – Now on Consoles

Well here’s a little success story that makes me happy. Fancy Pants Adventure was one of the best flash games of its kind, and it was created entirely by a single man. Brad Borne is both an excellent programmer and animator, which is a rare thing, so it’s no wonder he was snapped up by EA to work on some 2D projects. His quirky platformer is now available on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network and I played it for a bit at the weekend…
