I didn’t ever finish Prey, but I can say I liked the opening level. That was very good. There’s a trailer out for the sequel, and its going in a nice new direction to that of the first game. Bounty hunting aliens on a massive space station? Yes please. This looks like the love child of Blade Runner and Star Wars, set in the outer worldly goodness of something like Mass Effect. I have fond memories of Lord of the Rings Online, but I stopped playing years ago due to a generic vow of never playing an MMO again (which I’ve since broken several times anyway). Now that its free-to-play, there’s no reason not to at least check it out if only to see some of the cool locations adapted from the epic stories. The game is due a new expansion pack, which will bring Isengard and the surrounding area into the world.

The sequel to one of the best PS3 games is looking mighty fine if this new trailer is anything to go by. Naughty Dog haven’t put a foot wrong in this series, so here’s hoping for another bombastic thrillride Indiana Jones style.
Now, whilst there is in fact a slow motion scene of an as-yet-unknown naked lady (on further inspection, with the volume turned up, that lady could well be Diana…) showering, the sexiness I speak of actually stems from the absolutely awesome action going on with our friend Mr. 47 while he attempts to break into said naked-lady’s home and then flash his weapon at her.
The epic Mass Effect trilogy comes to a close early next year. I need to find time to replay through 1 and 2 in order to get my savefiles back and get the true experience, (I was one of the only people in the world to be relieved at the news of its delay). Until then, here’s a new trailer, which is all action and little story, but I appreciate the un-spoilery nature of it, compared to what they did during the buildup of Mass Effect 2…
So I finally got round to getting my First Access Club demo key for Duke Nukem Forever, but to be honest I was a tad unimpressed by the experience.
FarCry 3 has been announced, with a pretty fun gameplay video from E3 and ay’thang. There’s a stealth aspect to it, some kind of CoD style points system for getting kills, and a Mohawk-wielding lunatic who doesn’t like you very much and has an obsession with the word ‘insanity’. So far, this looks like it could be a blast, but it’s hard to tell yet if there’s going to be any free-roam this time.
I’d never have expected the sequel to the dark, moody underwater adventure to be compared to a circus, yet that’s exactly what it looks like from this new gameplay footage. Bioshock Infinite couldn’t look further from its predecessor right now, but it looks like gloriously silly fun. Still a long wait for this, as its not due out until 2012.
E3 is providing us with some mind-blowingly awesome trailers this year, and one of the highlights so far has been the Assassins Creed: Revelations gameplay and CGI videos. Whilst I had personally been a little disappointed at the news that the fourth installment in the series was yet another episode surrounding Ezio Auditore, I find myself rather pleased to see that he’s an older guy now, and perhaps this new game will have less of the wise-crack making, ladies-man attitude, and more of the gritty seriousness with some real stealthy assassinations. The gameplay trailer suggests a distinct lack of stealth, however; quite the opposite in fact.
Battlefield 3 is going to take over my life when it hits this autumn. As well as a slightly earlier release date now scheduled for 25th October, there’s a bunch of new gameplay videos to gawp at. I’m not kidding, this game looks bloody excellent. Click below for 2 new videos.
