Valve have unveiled a new game, and it isn’t Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Team Fortress 3 or Portal 3. No, it’s Counter Strike 3. This is going to be huge.

I recently played through Cult of the Lamb, a satirical take on the concept of running a demonic cult. It turns horrific things like sacrificial rituals, cannibalism and straight up gaslighting abuse into hilarious amusements by filtering everything through its cartoonish lens. You are a sheep, after all, and all your followers are sycophantic anthropomorphic […]

Hello, world! This post marks the moment in time and space when BangClickReload got a little redesign and was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Every post before this point is rather old and might not look right, and unless I decide to go through them all to fix them, they’re going to […]

Review – Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light

Lara Croft’s newest adventure is unlike anything you’ve seen her in before, and I’m happy to say it’s one of her most fun to play. Up until this point, all of the Tomb Raider games have been traditional 3D platformers, but The Guardian of Light brings the aging series into new and welcoming territory – it’s an isometric, top-down puzzle platformer designed to be played alone or with a friend – right now co-op only works if you’re sitting in the same room, but even without online features we all take for granted these days, I can’t recommend it enough.

Valve to release new Alien Swarm for free!

Wow, this is a nice surprise! Valve just announced that on Monday we’ll be getting a new game – for free! Alien Swarm was originally a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, and it was bloody fantastic. Featuring 4 player co-op, it was a top-down 3rd person shooter, in which teamwork was the only way to survive through the campaign. As the title suggests, the meat of the game was in fending off waves of nasty beasties with sharp claws, but there were also objectives to complete and a story to fight your way through. I have fond memories of being scared shitless trying to hack through a door while my friends shouted “they’re coming! oh god theres THOUSANDS!” down their mic’s.

E3 has come and gone, and if there is one thing people will surely remember most about 2011’s expo, it will be the revealing of the Wii U. Leading up to its announcement, rumors and speculation about the “Wii HD” was getting weirder and weirder. It turns out that the actual announcement was just as weird, if not more so. In fact, it was so weird that Nintendo’s stock fell significantly just after the revealing of their new system. This is no doubt due to the fact that people are still largely confused about what the hell this thing is. So what is it about the Wii U that’s so hard to grasp?
