Taken from the new extended teaser trailer for Valve’s upcoming Portal 2, but I refuse to link to it until there’s a nice high-res version out there. Portal 2 will feature a dynamic hug simulator, among other amusing emotes. Click for big version!

Review – Cult of the Lamb

I recently played through Cult of the Lamb, a satirical take on the concept of running a demonic cult. It turns horrific things like sacrificial rituals, cannibalism and straight up gaslighting abuse into hilarious amusements by filtering everything through its cartoonish lens. You are a sheep, after all, and all your followers are sycophantic anthropomorphic […]

Hello, world! This post marks the moment in time and space when BangClickReload got a little redesign and was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Every post before this point is rather old and might not look right, and unless I decide to go through them all to fix them, they’re going to […]

    No Gold, No Games…

    Paul Blackburn

    July 28, 2010

I have a habit. It’s a fun habit, but it’s also a very, very bad habit. It’s buying almost every new game that comes out for the 360, regardless of whether it has a review or not, good or bad. This has cost me dearly in situations where I’ve bought numerous games before knowing anything about how good they may or may not be, only to be left massively disappointed (i.e. Lost Planet 2, Naughty Bear).

This is a habit (addiction?) I’ve been forced to give up, and not because somebody said I should, or because I had some kind of epiphany about how life could be so much more without games. It’s because I have no money…

Anders Breivik is a Psychopath who Happens to Like Games

    Matt Clarke

    July 26, 2011

This weekend, Anders Behring Breivik murdered 76 people is Oslo, Norway. He has written a “manifesto”, explaining his actions, and among the 1’500 pages of whatever bullshit a psychopathic zealot might discuss are several refrences to video games. He claims to have used Modern Warfare 2 as a “training simulation” for his operation, and WoW as an excuse to his friends and family for spending so much time in isolation. This is no doubt going to dig up the age-old misguided media-fuelled argument that videogames are responsible for making people go around killing people. I expect Jack Thompson will rear his ugly face soon enough, but I want to get in here right away: the man who carried out this attack is INSANE.

    Super Meat Boy: Review

    Super Meat Boy

Every now and then a game comes along that you play for only a few minutes, and you sit there, mouth open, eyes wide, and you’ve already made your judgment. Usually it’s ‘This game SUCKS!’ (see Naughty Bear review). Super Meat Boy, however, is an outstanding exception to this rule. Within 30 seconds, we decided that this game is simply fantastic. No, really, it’s brilliant!
