Deus Ex 3

This trailer is already over a month old, so it’s only just still news (to people like me who somehow missed it, at least!) but if you’ve never heard of Deus Ex, you owe it to yourself to watch this gameplay trailer and be amazed at how bloody cool it looks.

Also, for the keen ear of those who care about Deus Ex at all, doesn’t the main character sound an awful lot like Walton Simons, director of FEMA from the first game! I attempted to look it up though, and sadly I don’t think it is…

I recently played through Cult of the Lamb, a satirical take on the concept of running a demonic cult. It turns horrific things like sacrificial rituals, cannibalism and straight up gaslighting abuse into hilarious amusements by filtering everything through its cartoonish lens. You are a sheep, after all, and all your followers are sycophantic anthropomorphic […]

    Bulletstorm

Most FPS games in the history of FPS games fall into one main category. You guessed it, the FPS category. Say ‘First Person Shooter’ to somebody and they will likely picture the same thing, regardless of what game it is; running around, jumping around, crawling around, and well, walking around, shooting endless enemies with a range of same-old, same-old weapons. Bulletstorm, however, brought a whole new set of ideas to the existing FPS template, and boy did it do it bloody well.

You are Monkey, a captive aboard a huge flying ship being taken to the Pyramid where you will be turned into a slave. In an explosive opening level, the ship crash lands in post-apocalyptic New York, which has been devoid of humans for the past 150 years and as such, is a little overgrown. After being knocked unconscious from the impact, you wake up to find yourself enslaved anyway, albeit by the slightly friendlier Trip, who just wants to get home. And the journey begins…
