Skyrim – E3 Gameplay Walkthrough

Todd Howard, the director of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim talks us through some of the features of the new game, which is also out this autumn. If you don’t want to know much about the way this game looks, in particular how FRIGGIN AWESOME fighting a non-scripted dragon might be, then don’t click below to see the footage…
Uncharted 3 – E3 Trailer

The sequel to one of the best PS3 games is looking mighty fine if this new trailer is anything to go by. Naughty Dog haven’t put a foot wrong in this series, so here’s hoping for another bombastic thrillride Indiana Jones style.
Mass Effect 3 – New E3 Trailer

The epic Mass Effect trilogy comes to a close early next year. I need to find time to replay through 1 and 2 in order to get my savefiles back and get the true experience, (I was one of the only people in the world to be relieved at the news of its delay). Until then, here’s a new trailer, which is all action and little story, but I appreciate the un-spoilery nature of it, compared to what they did during the buildup of Mass Effect 2…
Bioshock Infinite – New E3 Trailer

I’d never have expected the sequel to the dark, moody underwater adventure to be compared to a circus, yet that’s exactly what it looks like from this new gameplay footage. Bioshock Infinite couldn’t look further from its predecessor right now, but it looks like gloriously silly fun. Still a long wait for this, as its not due out until 2012.
Battlefield 3 – E3 2011 Footage

Battlefield 3 is going to take over my life when it hits this autumn. As well as a slightly earlier release date now scheduled for 25th October, there’s a bunch of new gameplay videos to gawp at. I’m not kidding, this game looks bloody excellent. Click below for 2 new videos.
Tomb Raider – Reboot Trailer

In case you weren’t aware, Tomb Raider is getting a reboot next year. Lara Croft’s origins are being explored in a new game about survival on a desolate island, and there’s a new CGI trailer to get you in the mood. Continuing the run of recent Square Enix pre-rendered trailers, it looks fantastic and I for one am looking forward to checking out one of gaming’s most famous heroine’s backstory.
Review – Darksiders

Heaven and Hell are raging a massive war in another dimension, and among the chaos, something triggers the rapture here on Earth. Literally all hell breaks lose, one of the four horses of the apocalypse is summoned forward by mistake, humanity is wiped out and the world is completely destroyed. War, the horsemen in question, barely has time to wonder where the other 3 are, when he is brutally destroyed by a giant demon. And this all happens within the first ten minutes. Welcome to Darksiders.
Real Life vs In-Game

I just went on a rather awesome road trip across America. It was a great way to get away from my unhealthy job (working on a computer) and my admittedly unhealthy hobby (playing on a computer) and I was both excited and ashamed to realise every place I visited reminded me of some videogame or other… As we traveled from Miami to New York and back again I saw so many locations which influenced some of my favourite games and it was great to compare them to my memories of their virtual counterparts.
Fancy Pants Adventures – Now on Consoles
Well here’s a little success story that makes me happy. Fancy Pants Adventure was one of the best flash games of its kind, and it was created entirely by a single man. Brad Borne is both an excellent programmer and animator, which is a rare thing, so it’s no wonder he was snapped up by EA to work on some 2D projects. His quirky platformer is now available on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network and I played it for a bit at the weekend…
Review – Assassins Creed: Brotherhood

So, after an inexcusable 5 month delay, the PC version of Assassins Creed: Brotherhood finally arrived in March, and I’ve sunk a huge amount of time into it over these past few weeks, yet I haven’t even touched the multiplayer component. I have heard good things, but simply not had a chance to try it out yet, so for this review I will be focusing entirely on my singleplayer experience. Continuing where AC2 left off, Brotherhood expands the story of Ezio and Desmond in the most complete package in the franchise’s lifespan so far.
Battlefield 3 – 12 Minute Trailer

If you’ve seen a few of the Battlefield 3 trailers lately, you might be interested to see the full 12 minute version, which pieces them all together, and adds a few previously unseen scenes. It is glorious.
Aperture Science Investment Ads

*edit*: Portal 2 will have a worldwide release on Steam – Tuesday 19th April 2011. The retail release date is slightly staggered, being Tuesday for North America, but Europe has to inexplicably wait ’til Thursday. Looks like Steam is the way to go.
PORTAL 2 IS OUT NEXT WEEK!
Ahem… If you’ve got Portal 2 pre-ordered on Steam, feel free to begin pre-loading it right now. If you do, it means you’ll be able to play the second it gets unlocked, which will be Thursday in the UK/Europe, or Tuesday night if you’re lucky enough to live in America. Damn yanks. Anyway, Valve have been making some hilarious Aperture Science ‘Investment Ads’ over the last couple of weeks, and they’re embedded below.
