Counter Strike: Global Offensive Announced
Valve have unveiled a new game, and it isn’t Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Team Fortress 3 or Portal 3. No, it’s Counter Strike 3. This is going to be huge. Read More ››
Buy One Minecraft, Get One Minecraft Free!
Notch got married this weekend, and to celebrate his sealing the deal and effectively splitting half of his fortune with another human being, he has decided that anyone who buys Minecraft this weekend should be allowed a second copy absolutely free. What a guy!

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Trial is Insanely Fun
Do you like 2D games? Do you like flying UFO’s? Do you like the ability to use a wide array of crazy sci-fi tools to achieve results in bizarre situations involving black and red tentacles that want to eat you, and then upgrade everything so you can do it even better the next time? Then after having a good blast of the trial of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, I can honestly say you will have a great time.
MineCon 2011 is a Go!
It’s official; Minecraft is so popular that an entire convention all about Notch and Mojang’s cult success game has sprung up, and in Las Vegas, USA no less! Now I like Minecraft, but I certainly couldn’t afford to splash out on tickets to this quite yet. You couldn’t ask for a much cooler location to hold the event though, and if I have the money next year, I certainly wouldn’t mind attending. Read More ››
Modern Warfare 3 – Spec Ops Trailer
There’s no doubt about it, I’m ten times more excited about Battlefield 3 than I am about Modern Warfare 3. However, my favourite part of Modern Warfare 2 was the two-player spec-ops missions where you got to fight masses and masses of enemy AI soldiers, and of course, where would the newest installment to the series be if it didn’t include a similar or even better rendition of the same feature… Well goody goody gun-drops, look what we have here! The following trailer for MW3 Spec Ops mode gives plenty of explosive and bullety footage of a TON of cool things happening during a lengthy battle between players and AI bastards who simply won’t leave you alone. Also, how clever are they, spelling WW3 with an upside down M; they’ve definitely used their smarts right there.
Notch and Mojang are being Sued
What a load of crap this is. Notch, creator of Minecraft and all-round indie-game legend, is being sued by Bethesda. Mojang have upset some uppity bigwigs by trying to call their new game ‘Scrolls’, which apparantly is too similar to ‘The Elder Scrolls’ (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, etc). As a gamer with enough basic knowledge to understand they are 2 completely different games based on 2 very different genres – one is a sprawling third-person RPG, the other is a card collecting game with a fantasy theme – I can’t understand why such a fuss should be made. And yet here we are again. The world of copyright and trademarks can be pretty damn infuriating sometimes. The fact that this one involves two game developers I am very fond of is saddening.

RAGE – Uprising Trailer
More information about Rage is slowly being drip-fed from Bethesda’s hype-machine of marketing videos. For starters, it turns out the world is in such a sorry state thanks to an uninvited meteor which decided to visit Earth and you are one of the lucky survivors who escaped death by sleeping through the disaster in stasis. You are one of very few ‘arc survivors’ and that apparantly makes you very valuable to the ‘authorities’ of this otherwise lawless place. The trailer below is chock full of story introduction and fun-looking gameplay.
Limbo – Now on Steam
The darkly atmospheric platformer Limbo has just found a new home on the PC. If you didn’t play this when it came out on the 360 last year, now’s your chance to experience this most highly acclaimed indie hit. Featuring zero dialogue, you experience the story of a boy trapped in a very haunting world, void of colour as he traverses puzzles and obstacles, utilizing a satisfying physics engine and some of the most chilling sound design ever found in a game of this sort. Well worth £6.99 on Steam, here’s what Paul thought of it last year on XBLA. Read More ››
Humbie Indie Bundle Strikes Back – Pay What You Want
The Humble Indie Bundle has returned! Get your hands on 5, count em, FIVE glorious indie games for however much you want! That’s right! Want to pay 1 singular dollar? Do it! There’s no strings attached. You can even decide how much of your contribution to the developers goes to who. Think the developers deserve all the money? Make it so! Prefer it if amazing children’s charity Child’s Play gets it all? Go for it. It’s your donation, and a pretty freakin’ sweet reward for giving. Seriously, all five games work on PC and Mac, so unless you’re reading this on your mobile, you have NO excuses to not take part in this amazing offer. We already have, and I’m playing the hell out of Cogs, and there’s still Hammerfight, And Yet It Moves, VVVVVV, and Crayon Physics Deluxe to go. What a score!

The Walking Dead – Comic-Con Season 2 Trailer
We’re not all about the games here. The ‘stuff’ bit of our slogan keeps us covered when we feel like telling you about other entertaining things. Things like this. Comic-Con just happened, and along with vague news of Jurassic Park 4 from Spielberg himself (yes!), there’s also this fantastic trailer of season 2 of The Walking Dead. Frank Darabont’s adaptation was the best TV show of last year, and we’re eagerly waiting to see the story continue.

Re-remake – Goldeneye: Reloaded
The N64 classic has already been remade once in last years well-received Wii title, but now its getting the HD treatment in a remade remake. Built on a new engine to make good use of the 360 and PS3’s superior hardware, it should be the better version in the end. Admittedly, its difficult to get excited about this console-only shooter when your brain is eagerly awaiting a certain FPS threequel about battles on fields. My fond memories of 4-player splitscreen in my bedroom with 3 mates running around the Temple, License to Kill, Automatics and NO-ONES ALLOWED ODDJOB, will live on forever though.
Augment This – 30 Minutes of Deus Ex 3 Gameplay
Those Eidos and Square Enix bastards have been drip feeding us constant nibbles of Deus Ex 3 goodness in the form of screenshots, videos, and fictional web sites ever since it was announced, but now the drips are getting bigger, tastier, and even a little crunchier (the good kind of crunch, where you realize that chocolate you bought has biscuit in it). I couldn’t be looking forward to Deus Ex 3 more than I am, and seeing this video makes me wish I could fall into a sleep-induced coma for the next 44 days (though this would involve missing my birthday – a worthy sacrifice), wake up on release day, and get stuck in.
