Crysis 2 multiplayer demo, quick blast…
While I’m on the subject of game demos today, I might as well mention the Crysis 2 demo too. Sadly, it’s only a multiplayer demo, and really, who wants a fucking multiplayer demo of a predominantly single player game? I don’t care about leveling up my persistent character before I get the full game, I’ll do it when own the full thing. I want to shoot some aliens in Times Square first! Anyway, with my mini-rant over, read on for a quick opinion on the demo gameplay itself.
Bulletstorm demo is explosive, face-kicking fun
I downloaded the Bulletstorm demo the other day and had a quick run through, because I was certain it was going to be awesome fun. With phrases like “dick-tits!” and “son of a dick!” uttered by the NPCs every now and then, how on Earth could it not be fun?
Unbelievable Facial Animation in L.A Noire
Today I saw for the first time this video about the incredible facial animation technology for the upcoming LA Noire, Rockstar Games’ soon-to-arrive, gritty looking crime thriller. The game, from what I’ve read and seen, allows you to see real live emotions through the faces of the characters in the game, and allows for a whole new element of realistic, lie-detecting gameplay, adding an incredibly realistic new angle to the concept of a crime solving game. I can’t wait to see this in action in the full game, but until then I’ll just have to be content with seeing amazing videos like this one:
Duke Nukem Forever. Trailer-tastic!
It’s finally coming… Duke Nukem Forever release date marked as May 3rd 2011. Watch this awesome trailer and be amazed! Hail to the king, baby.
Move over, Danny Boyle.. We’re better!
Along with dozens of other impulse-purchases thanks (or no thanks) to the recent Christmas sale on Steam, we decided to get our hands on the entire GTA IV collection for about £6 in December, which right now has ended up being one of the best decisions we made last year. Why? The GTA IV video editor, that’s why! Next stop, Hollywood.
Dead Rising 2 – Extremely Late Review
Well, it’s been pretty slow here on BcR this last month, probably because we’re lazy bastards, and somehow I’ve managed to do it again: I’ve played a game from start to finish in less than a week, traded it back to the shop to get half price on something else, and then completely forgot I even had it. That’s not to say it was a bad game at all, but more likely that I simply suffer from a gaming addiction so strong that my days become one long blur… Well, at least that’s the excuse I’m giving for my terrible memory. Anyway, the game in question is Dead Rising 2, and I’m gonna review it quickly, even though it’s far too late.

It’s all in the title. Follow this link and get 100 free MS points for Xbox Live. Sure, it’s not a lot, and you have to sign up to a Games for Windows newsletter, but 100 free points are still 100 free points, and surely worth the typing of one email address. Read More ››
Zombie Swarm of the Week
Red Dead Redemption’s latest (and definitely most amazing looking) DLC content has just been released, and I wants it. Sadly, I was a massive fool and because I had connection issues with the multiplayer part of the main retail game, I got sick of owning it for no reason anymore once I had completed it, and traded it in for a decent £20. Now that Undead Nightmare is out, and it looks effing awesome, I’m seriously pissed at myself for getting rid of RDR so early. Never mind, though. Expect a review on this from Matt soon enough.

Super Meat Boy: Review
Every now and then a game comes along that you play for only a few minutes, and you sit there, mouth open, eyes wide, and you’ve already made your judgment. Usually it’s ‘This game SUCKS!’ (see Naughty Bear review). Super Meat Boy, however, is an outstanding exception to this rule. Within 30 seconds, we decided that this game is simply fantastic. No, really, it’s brilliant!
Halo Reach or Halo Wretch?
How time flies! One day you’re sitting with no new games to play, the next you’re playing Halo Reach on Xbox 360, and before you know it, it’s 3 weeks after you’ve finished it and you somehow still haven’t written any whatsoever about it on your blog. Not sure if that says anything about what I thought about the game, but to be honest, it most likely just says a lot about how lazy I really can be. I mean, avoiding going to a gym or going for a run when I’m starting to get a Santa belly (good timing, mind) is bad enough, but failing to type a few simple paragraphs about a video game I sat on my arse and played for a week is just the pinnacle of fat, lazy, slobbishness!
Well, at least I finally got around to it now…
Deus Ex 3 – Gameplay Video
This trailer is already over a month old, so it’s only just still news (to people like me who somehow missed it, at least!) but if you’ve never heard of Deus Ex, you owe it to yourself to watch this gameplay trailer and be amazed at how bloody cool it looks.
Dead Space 2 – Multiplayer Beta Gameplay
Dead Space 2 currently appears to be set for an early 2011 release (to my dismay) and after hearing that it’s going to have a multiplayer side to it, we’ve been wondering how that could work in a single-player game that made such a huge impact in our survival horror part of our gaming lives. Apparently, one of the main multiplayer features (if not the only) of the game is a 4v4, objective-based struggle between humans and necromorphs and requires that the humans fight to complete a set of tasks, all the while defending against the mutant menace on the other team, who’s sole purpose is to stop them (see video below).
