Duke Demo a Bit Disappointing
So I finally got round to getting my First Access Club demo key for Duke Nukem Forever, but to be honest I was a tad unimpressed by the experience.
FarCry 3 – Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?
FarCry 3 has been announced, with a pretty fun gameplay video from E3 and ay’thang. There’s a stealth aspect to it, some kind of CoD style points system for getting kills, and a Mohawk-wielding lunatic who doesn’t like you very much and has an obsession with the word ‘insanity’. So far, this looks like it could be a blast, but it’s hard to tell yet if there’s going to be any free-roam this time.
Assassins Creed: Revelations – Ezio Got Old
E3 is providing us with some mind-blowingly awesome trailers this year, and one of the highlights so far has been the Assassins Creed: Revelations gameplay and CGI videos. Whilst I had personally been a little disappointed at the news that the fourth installment in the series was yet another episode surrounding Ezio Auditore, I find myself rather pleased to see that he’s an older guy now, and perhaps this new game will have less of the wise-crack making, ladies-man attitude, and more of the gritty seriousness with some real stealthy assassinations. The gameplay trailer suggests a distinct lack of stealth, however; quite the opposite in fact.
Duke is almost ready to Nukem
And for your viewing pleasure, here’s his latest trailer:
They’re coming outta the goddamn walls!
It’s back! It’s finally coming! And there’s even a cool teaser too! After waiting years and years, suffering through fears of total cancellation, Aliens: Colonial Marines is finally arriving in the foreseeable future. There’s even a web site set up for it, not to mention an estimated release date of Spring 2012. We are happy, very happy.
CoD: Modern Warfare 3 – Gameplay Reveal Trailer
Well, there’s been scandal about spoilers and all kinds of rubbish to do with the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and frankly I’ve done my best to avoid absolutely everything to do with it, because I’d prefer it to be kept spoiler-free thank-you-very-much. One thing I’ve been most pleased to finally see online, however, is the first gameplay trailer. There’s a handful of famous locations around the world, including New York City, the Eiffel Tower, and an exploding tube train in London! Oooooh… controversial!
Review – Fable 3
It’s been a long time now since it came out on 360, but since I only just finished it last week, and the PC version is due to be released in only a week or so, I can finally get round to reviewing it and it won’t be too late or random.
No Brink ’cause I’m Broke…
It’s that time of year again! The car insurance is due out, there’s endless bills, and sadly, I have to eat, so I have little or no cash to spend on the things that truly matter, like video games! This happened last year though, and hopefully it’ll pass pretty sharpish… What a bad time for it to happen though! In only 4 days we have Brink’s release (May 13th), Brink being a game that I really bloody want, and not to mention L.A. Noire is out about a week later (May 20th). Woe is me! I won’t be surprised, however, if I’m extremely irresponsible and get a hold of them one way or another anyway… Read More ››
Motherf- Portal 2 remains locked… for now.
Those sneaky bastards! Well, we waited with immense anticipation for today’s countdown timer on Aperturescience.com to hit 00:00:00, and most of the world – including ourselves – thought it would mean the early release of Portal 2. Sadly, we were massively mistaken, and the timer actually led us to let another timer. Good grief! Could Valve toy with us anymore?!
Anyway, the timer it led us to now is significantly more interesting, as it appears to be a page devoted to getting as many people playing a select handful of games, and gaining as many achievements as possible before the official release of Portal 2 on Steam next Tuesday. If the quota is met, then we seem to be promised an actual early release, instead of the fake one that we all believed was coming. Another suggestion has been that what is really being asked of us is that we merely play the games in one large coordinated effort, filling up the red meters on the new page, to produce enough fictional power to allow Portal 2 to release early.
Whatever the hell we need to be doing, we’re certainly going to put in some time on any of the required games that we currently own. Read More ››
Portal 2 releasing early…
… or so we hope! Something exciting is happening, and we really, really, really, really, really hope it’s that Portal 2 is releasing early. There’s speculation online at the moment, because this counter from the end of the recent ARG (Alternate Reality Game) to do with Portal 2’s upcoming release is highly suspicious. We have our fingers crossed for some really great news. We’ll be absolutely certain to post it here as soon as we know more! Read More ››
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has gone all action…
… and Leon Kennedy looks really shiny. There’s another Resident Evil game with a rather uninspired name on the way, and it looks like we’ll be playing it as a whole new cast of multi-lingual super-secret Umbrella soldiers – also they don’t seem very nice. Read More ››
