Crysis 2 story trailer

It’s been 4 years since Crysis, the PC exclusive beast which became the graphical benchmark for all modern shooters. For a while we were waiting in anticipation of what Crytek’s next game would look like, expecting another leap forward in graphical deliciousness. Crysis 2 is now only a month away from release, and though it doesn’t appear to be as great a leap forward in the visual department as we expected, (lets thank the console toys for that) it still looks fantastic. See the new 3 minute story trailer below.
Battlefield 3 Teaser Trailer!

Finally! An awesome little teaser trailer for Battlefield 3 has been released, and most importantly, you can quite clearly see a jet. A JET! After Bad Company simplified the series a little, taking away the ability to go prone, and worse, the JETS, we are very happy to see they are going back to the old way of doing things with BF3 by bringing all that back. Very, very happy. Let’s just hope they take the Destruction 2.0 from Bad Company and plonk it right in here.
And apparently.. it’s due out Autumn this year. Yay!
Deus Ex 3 info overload

RockPaperShotgun have a whole load of new information about Deus Ex 3. I’m more excited about this game than any other this year, and if you ever played the original Deus Ex, I’m sure you’re equally as keen to get your hands on it. It sure does look as though they’re doing everything they can to produce a faithful prequel to the original, and put the misstep that was Invisible War in the past. Trailer below.
Abe’s HD Oddysee

It’s been an unbelievable 14 years since everyone’s favourite Mudokon, Abe of Oddworld, graced our consoles with his first adventure, Abe’s Oddysee, and since then we had three more Oddworld games, too; Abe’s Exodus, Munch’s Oddysee, and Stranger’s Wrath – all great games. Now, after all this time, we are all going to be treated to the best thing that could ever happen in Oddworld… A HD remake of the original Abe’s Oddysee, with full 3D graphics in the same old side-scrolling, 2D perspective, with brand spanking new physics!
Crysis 2 multiplayer demo, quick blast…

While I’m on the subject of game demos today, I might as well mention the Crysis 2 demo too. Sadly, it’s only a multiplayer demo, and really, who wants a fucking multiplayer demo of a predominantly single player game? I don’t care about leveling up my persistent character before I get the full game, I’ll do it when own the full thing. I want to shoot some aliens in Times Square first! Anyway, with my mini-rant over, read on for a quick opinion on the demo gameplay itself.
Bulletstorm demo is explosive, face-kicking fun

I downloaded the Bulletstorm demo the other day and had a quick run through, because I was certain it was going to be awesome fun. With phrases like “dick-tits!” and “son of a dick!” uttered by the NPCs every now and then, how on Earth could it not be fun?
Unbelievable Facial Animation in L.A Noire

Today I saw for the first time this video about the incredible facial animation technology for the upcoming LA Noire, Rockstar Games’ soon-to-arrive, gritty looking crime thriller. The game, from what I’ve read and seen, allows you to see real live emotions through the faces of the characters in the game, and allows for a whole new element of realistic, lie-detecting gameplay, adding an incredibly realistic new angle to the concept of a crime solving game. I can’t wait to see this in action in the full game, but until then I’ll just have to be content with seeing amazing videos like this one:
A Celebratory Century – The Tower Unveiled
100 posts and still not dead! Yes, we’ve reached a milestone, and to celebrate we decided to finish the site. Since the site began, Paul and myself wanted a page dedicated to all the games we’ve ever looked at, specifically to rank them in order of awesomeness. We came up with a name, and a concept for it, and then ignored it for about 8 months. Then last week with the 100th post looming, we decided enough was enough, and the time has come to open The Tower…
Duke Nukem Forever. Trailer-tastic!

It’s finally coming… Duke Nukem Forever release date marked as May 3rd 2011. Watch this awesome trailer and be amazed! Hail to the king, baby.
Ghost Trick Playable Demo
How would you like to play a demo of a new DS game by the makers of Pheonix Wright? Of course you do. And you don’t even need a DS to play this one. The Pheonix Wright games are some of the most fun puzzle adventure games out there full of amusing characters and lots of mystery. Ghost Trick looks and feels very familiar, but its unique game mechanic of possessing inanimate objects to solve puzzles feels pretty entertaining from this short demo. Go here and have a look. Mass Effect 3 Debut Trailer

Bioware has announced part 3 of its Mass Effect sci-fi saga, with this awesome cgi trailer. Looks highly likely we’ll get to explore Earth this time around, or its’ ruins…
Live from Multiplay i41

Moooooorning. We’re at Multiplay’s I41 this weekend and its rather good. It’s the UK’s biggest PC gaming LAN event, where you bring your own pc along with 3000-odd other people, eat a ton of junk food and Red Bull, and of course play as many bloody games as you can possibly cram in. So far, Paul has played through the entirety of CODBLOPS singleplayer and we played through Unreal Tournament 3’s singleplayer campaign in co-op in 2 marathon sittings. If you like games, you’ll probably like it here. Read More ››
