We’re nearly Back to Karkand…

Back to Karkand

… and we’re going to be able to fly harrier jump jets again! This excites me. This excites me a lot. See, I like flying helicopters, and I like flying jets, and in my mind a harrier is the best of both, and that means it should be helluva fun. If at least only because of the nostalgia I’m going to have when shooting the shit out of that big crane while a little guy tries running along it to avoid the hail of bullets from my minigun. Suffice to say, I can’t wait!

Gunpoint – Spying, Climbing and Jumping out of Windows

Gunpoint is an indie game being developed by PC games journalist Tom Francis. If you read PC Gamer like me, you’ll probably know him for his writing more so than his game development skills. Nonetheless, he seems to be doing a pretty good job of creating his first game. In it, you play a spy who has to break into office blocks, hack computers and take out guards before making a daring escape, quite often by leaping out of a third story window. But that’s not even the best bit. You get a gadget called the Crosslink, which basically lets you rewire any electrical device to almost any other in the building, allowing for some very creative puzzle solving…

Review – Renegade Ops

Last weekend we spent our time festering at Multiplay’s i44, not sleeping and eating a horiffic number of doughnuts. While we were there, we blasted our way through Renegade Ops with our two mates Jon and Sam. Made by the same team who gave us Just Cause 2, and built in that very same engine, we expected mindless carnage and plenty of explosions. It certainly didn’t disappoint.

Gorgeous Skyrim Time Lapse

Skyrim has well and truly taken over our lives these past few weeks. The game sold so many copies in its first week that the total player count was higher than that of Modern Warfare 3 at one point. So, there’s a good chance if you’re reading this, you too have been busily questing your way through one of the biggest games of the year, and have explored its snowy wilderness. Which brings me to this stunning time lapse video of Skyrim’s world. Its quite something…

Review – Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

This glorious glut of gaming goodness continues as another reason to dust off the PS3 came along in the form of Uncharted 3 last month. Its predecessor, Among Thieves is the best game the SonyBox has to offer, and so I went into Nathan Drake’s third adventure with high hopes and expectations. With strong characters, epic action set-pieces, and unparalleled visual design wrapped up in a bombastic globe-trotting plot, it gives fans of the series more of exactly what we wanted. So, why did I trade it in the day after I finished it? Let me tell you…

The Humble Introversion Bundle

It’s once again time to get some fantastic games for almost no money. The latest Humble Bundle is out, and it contains all of Introversion’s back catalogue. So, if you don’t already own Uplink, Darwinia, Defcon, or Multiwinia, and would be willing to part with a single quid (or indeed, less), check it out. The company has been struggling to survive for the last few years, so I truly hope this makes them a crapton of money so they can continue making Subversion, which they had to abandon recently. Amusing trailer is below.

Skyrim is Almost Here…

And it has a new trailer. It’s very nice, and rather subdued, especially compared to most game trailers we are treated to, choosing to simply show off some of the locations and NPC’s we’re all likely to explore and meet once Friday hits. Yep, just 3 days to go. Man, I intend to get so utterly lost in this…

Review – Portal 2: Peer Review

Portal 2: Peer Review

You may remember that a few months back, a little game called ‘Portal 2′ was released. It was no big deal or anything, just a sequel to an enormous cult success of a side-project game, which was only very slightly hyped up before release, so that a handful of people would be aware of it and maybe buy it later on. Of course – in true GLaDOS spirit – I’m lying, and it was one of the most cleverly hyped up games I have ever committed my wallet to. So naturally, when we finished that game, we did a review-thingy of the robotty co-op mode. Now, several months later, we’ve got round to trying out the brand new – and free! – Peer Review DLC, and spent roughly three hours completing the brain-melting puzzles that came with it.
