Top Ten of 2011 – 9. Dead Space 2

EA’s mega-sequel Dead Space 2 arrived early in 2011 to scare the crap out of everyone in January. It was bigger, louder and more violent than its predecessor, which says a lot. With a new focus on Isaac’s mind, the game tapped into some psychological issues aimed directly at the player this time, and the result was one terrifying experience. We were worried about the possibility of Isaac having an actual voice this time ruining some of the atmosphere, but those fears were unnecessary as Dead space 2 turned out to be one of the best games of the year.

Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 was released just over a week ago, and after finally beating it on ‘survivalist’ mode (the third of five possibly difficult levels, the fourth being ‘zealot’ and the last promising to be so unimaginably hard, it wasn’t even unlocked yet) I finally have a well rounded opinion of the game.

So let’s see which games I’ve got my mitts on at the moment…

Dead Space 2 – Multiplayer Beta Gameplay

Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 currently appears to be set for an early 2011 release (to my dismay) and after hearing that it’s going to have a multiplayer side to it, we’ve been wondering how that could work in a single-player game that made such a huge impact in our survival horror part of our gaming lives. Apparently, one of the main multiplayer features (if not the only) of the game is a 4v4, objective-based struggle between humans and necromorphs and requires that the humans fight to complete a set of tasks, all the while defending against the mutant menace on the other team, who’s sole purpose is to stop them (see video below).
